Multiple bills in the North Dakota Legislature would help provide easier access to dental care in the state. House Bill 1567 and Senate Bill 2231 would address different areas of concern.
The House proposal would fund studies on improving access to low-income children, disabled people, and Native Americans while also studying care among Medicaid patients.
The Senate Bill adds dental coverage to the Medicaid Expansion program, available to those falling below 138% of the federal poverty line.
A recent study from the Department of Health and Human Services showed less than half of the state’s dental needs are being met.
