ND Supreme Court Justices: Justice Daniel Crothers, Justice Douglas Bahr, Chief Justice Jon Jensen, Justice Jerod Tufte and Justice Lisa Fair McEvers Via NDCourts.gov
Supreme Court Justices Lisa Fair McEvers and Jerod Tufte are seeking the chief justice position following Jon Jensen’s announcement he will step down when his term expires at year’s end.
Fair McEvers has served as a justice since 2014 and previously ran for chief justice in 2019. She formerly served as a state district court judge and labor commissioner. Tufte joined the court in 2016 after serving as legal counsel to former Governor Jack Dalrymple and as a district court judge.
The position is decided by vote of the five Supreme Court justices and state district court judges. Ballots were mailed Monday, with results to be counted and livestreamed December 10th on the court’s website.
