The State of North Dakota is investing in the future of autonomous agriculture by awarding major grants to Greenfield Robotics and Grand Farm, covering 93% of each project’s funding request.
Greenfield Robotics receives $500,000 to run full-season pilot testing robots for planting, weed control, and cover crop establishment. Grand Farm receives a $7 million grant to advance Phase II of its Innovation Campus in Casselton. The project will add new facilities, testing areas, infrastructure, and collaboration spaces for ag-tech companies and researchers.
The goal is to explore how autonomous tools can reduce herbicide use and tillage while maintaining soil health and strong yields. Results will be shared with farmers and agronomists to provide real-world insight into how the technology performs under North Dakota conditions.
