Temperatures are plunging tonight with dangerously cold wind chills continuing across northeastern and north-central North Dakota through the overnight hours.

Another clipper system moves in Friday, bringing chances for a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, and sleet from west to east, according to the NWS. Windy conditions may return Friday as well, with some blowing snow possible, creating hazardous travel conditions once again.

Saturday will be cooler, but there’s good news for holiday travelers: temperatures are expected to warm back to near or above average leading up to Christmas.

If you’re heading out tonight, bundle up and limit outdoor exposure. For Friday, monitor conditions before traveling as the wintry mix could create slick roads across the state.
