North Dakota advocacy groups are launching a statewide town hall meeting tour this week to help voters navigate three critical constitutional measures set for the 2026 ballot—including a controversial proposal to change the state’s Initiative and Referendum (I&R) process, according to the North Dakota Monitor.
The series of discussions kicks off Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Bismarck. Organizers aim to explain how these measures, all placed on the ballot by the state Legislature, could fundamentally alter how citizens propose new laws and how long state lawmakers can remain in office.
The discussions will take place on the following dates:
-
Thursday, Jan. 29: Bismarck Veterans Memorial Library (6:30 p.m.).
-
Monday, Feb. 2: Bismarck Kennedy Center (7:00 p.m.).
-
Thursday, Feb. 5: Fargo Public Library (6:00 p.m.).
-
Thursday, Feb. 12: Minot – Badlands Restaurant (6:00 p.m.).
