Stutsman County emergency officials will conduct a county-wide test of outdoor warning sirens on Wednesday next week, April 29, as part of a statewide push for seasonal readiness.
The sirens are scheduled to sound at 11:15 a.m. in Jamestown and several surrounding communities. The sirens will run for three full minutes.
This is part of North Dakota Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week, which runs from April 27 through May 1. Each day of the week focuses on a specific safety topic to help residents prepare for upcoming weather hazards.
Monday covers severe thunderstorms, Tuesday covers lightning, Wednesday focuses on tornadoes, Thursday is all about flash flooding, and Friday will focus on extreme heat and fire.
