The North Dakota Highway Patrol has confirmed they arrested a man after he was clocked driving 143 miles an hour on Friday evening on Highway 2 near Devils Lake.
The NDHP says a westbound car was spotted by a trooper doing the high rate of speed going westbound between Lakota and Devils Lake. The NDHP says the trooper turned on his lights for an initial pursuit, but the driver did not stop. The trooper then pursued the driver for about seven miles before the driver stopped and the trooper made the apprehension.
The NDHP has identified the driver as 25-year-old Eric Johnson of Milnor.
Johnson faces felony charges of fleeing and reckless endangerment.
