2026 Class B Speech State Tournament

Class B State Speech Results – Valley City Wins Team Title

The results are in for the North Dakota Class B high school Speech State Tournament from Mandan. The event was held on April 25, with qualifiers from 10 regions across the state.

The Valley City Highliners bested Dickinson Trinity/New England for the Team Championship.  Washburn finished third, Enderlin fourth, Our Redeemer’s fifth, and Beach finished sixth.

The Radio Broadcasting event was won by Valley City’s Carter Hass, who edged out Starkweather’s Anna Griedl.

Storytelling was won by Anna Peterson of Kenmare, with a second-place tie between Abbigail Sheldon of Central Cass and Addison Fetsch of Valley City.

The Extemporaneous Speech champion was Lorelei Emter of Dickinson Trinity/New England, with teammate Priya Pooler finishing runner-up.

The Humorous Duo title went to Ethan Skoog and Grayson Mjoness of Richland, with Siri Williams and Jack Short of Hillsboro finishing second.

Coach Paula Rauschenberger of South-Prairie Max was voted by her peers as the classification’s Coach of the Year.
