Jamestown residents get a chance to kickstart their spring cleaning, as crews make their way through neighborhoods, clearing out piles of various household items left on the curb. Curbside Cleanup Week is Monday, May 11 through Saturday, May 16.
According to a PSA, items must be placed on the roadway as close to the curb or shoulder as possible. Materials must be out by 7:00 a.m. on the morning of your designated cleanup day. Monday covered the Southeast section, Tuesday covers the SW, Wednesday covers the NW, and Thursday covers the NE.
It should be noted that not everything will be accepted for pickup. Residents are urged to check if their items are acceptable (list below). All items left at a property after the City truck has collected acceptable items are the responsibility of the property owner, and trucks will not return after pickup is complete.
The City Baler/Landfill will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be accepting 500 pounds of disposal at no charge this week only, although proof of residence is required.
