A truck hauling an empty enclosed trailer overturned this morning on I-94 in Barnes County. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that the incident occurred at 9:36 a.m. near mile marker 288 due to driving too fast during strong winds.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. The driver was cited.
The crash blocked the eastbound lanes for 1.5 hours; traffic slowly passed on the shoulder, directed by law enforcement.
During high winds, the NDHP reminds drivers of all vehicle types to slow down, keep both hands on the wheel, use extra caution while hauling trailers, and consider delaying travel.
