State campaign finance reports show Gov. Kelly Armstrong is putting substantial money into this year’s Republican primary races.
The filings show Armstrong gave $195,400 to 20 candidates and one district Republican committee by last Friday’s reporting deadline.
The three largest checks were $25,000 each to Public Service Commission candidates Sheri Haugen-Hoffart and Jill Kringstad, and to superintendent candidate Levi Bachmeier. Most of the other contributions ranged from $3,000 to $10,000, with the smallest reported donation being $500. The money went largely to candidates Armstrong has publicly endorsed in contested Republican primaries.
