American Legion Post 137 in Ellendale says it gave over $67,000 to organizations as part of it’s giving campaign in the past year.
The Legion says money went to a wide range of groups, including youth programs, public safety, food assistance, veterans projects, school activities and community improvements.
The largest listed donations included $4,750 to the Ellendale Seconds Program$4,500 each to Ellendale Shooting Sports and the Ellendale Fire Protection District. They also gave $3,000 to several groups, including the Ellendale Food Pantry, Kedish House, Dickey County 4-H, the Thunder Wrestling Club and the Wall of Honor.
Manager Jeff Diemert told the Dickey County Leader the donations they received come from community support of the Legion and fundraisers.
