Unleaded gas prices are steady week-over-week in North Dakota, while diesel saw a small rise as it approaches near-historically high levels.
Prices average $4.16 for a gallon of regular unleaded in the state, with diesel at $5.24 per gallon, up 2 cents from last week. Prices for regular gas have soared 50 cents from a month ago and are up over $1.50 per gallon since March.
Diesel is now nearing an all-time high in North Dakota. That record was set on June 22, 2022 at $5.62 per gallon.
Towner and Ramsey counties near the Canadian border are reporting the lowest prices in the state this week, with Barnes and Cass Counties also among the lowest in the state. Stutsman County, typically with some of the state’s lowest prices, has seen unusually-large rises with stations now averaging $4.24 per gallon for regular unleaded, nearly 20 cents higher than in Barnes County.
Crude oil prices have been steady for the past few weeks after an initial rapid rise due to the ongoing wars and conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
