Two Stutsman County high school standouts are receiving a scholarship as a reward for staying local for college.
Paige Anderson of Medina and Jaelyn Neys of Jamestown are honored as this year’s recipients of the Past Presidents Scholarship. The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce awarded them each a $1,000 scholarship to attend the University of Jamestown.
Anderson received the general scholarship. She plans to attend the University of Jamestown and is currently undecided on her major. Her application highlighted her work in FFA, band, sports, and her small baking business, Paige’s Pantry, which she started after developing the idea through an ag project.
Neys received the healthcare scholarship. She plans to study nursing and has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her application noted more than 30 hours of volunteer service, including work through National Honor Society and support for older adults in the community.
