A Hope man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that was found Saturday morning northwest of Pillsbury.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the driver as 42-year-old Jonathan Heidorn of Hope. Troopers say Heidorn was driving a 2022 Chevy Silverado from Page toward Hope sometime Friday night or Saturday morning when the pickup didn’t turn at a curve in the road, left the roadway, and struck a parked bulldozer in a nearby field.
The crash was not found until about 9:30 Saturday morning. It was unclear to the NDHP when the crash happened overnight, although they’ve determined the roadway remained dry.
Heidorn was pronounced dead at the scene when first responders arrived. The initial investigation found he was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
