Gas prices are again trending upward in North Dakota after a week of relatively little movement.
AAA reports prices for regular unleaded now average $4.25 per gallon in the state, up ten cents from last week, twenty cents from a month ago, and $1.31 higher than a year ago. The record-high for unleaded was set in 2022, when prices averaged $4.80 per gallon.
Prices for diesel spiked 13 cents in the past day, with a gallon now averaging $5.25. That’s now up five cents from a week ago. The record-high in the state for diesel is $5.60, with some analysts expecting prices to eclipse that mark in the month.
Stutsman County is now seeing some of the highest prices in the state, with stations reporting a $4.30 average for unleaded, and over $5.30 for diesel.
Ramsey County continues to report the lowest prices in North Dakota, at just over $4 a gallon. The western quarter of the state, including the energy-rich Willison and Watford City areas, are reporting the highest prices in the state.
The national average for unleaded is now $4.55 a gallon, with diesel at $5.65.
