Four people are injured after a three-vehicle DUI T-bone crash in Fargo. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of 42nd Street South and 52nd Avenue South.
According to reports, a Chevrolet Impala driven by a 21-year-old man from Fargo was heading south on 42nd Street. A 19-year-old Grand Forks man sat in the passenger seat; neither occupants were wearing seatbelts. The vehicle reportedly ran the red light on 42nd Street at around 45 MPH.
A Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 41-year-old woman was heading west and had entered the intersection shortly before the Impala. The Impala struck the Equinox on the driver’s side. The Equinox left the roadway and overturned. The woman was wearing a seatbelt. The Impala then began rotating clockwise and was rear-ended by a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 53-year-old woman, who was also wearing a seatbelt.
The 21-year-old driver of the Impala was charged with DUI, criminal vehicular injury, open container, and for having no insurance. The 19-year-old passenger has been charged with minor in consumption and for having an open container.
Occupants from all three vehicles were taken to Essentia Health, with occupants of both the Impala and Equinox suffering serious injuries. The Jeep Grand Cherokee driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
