FEMA approves over nearly $250k for Jamestown storm recovery

North Dakota is receiving federal recovery dollars to repair damage left by last summer’s severe storms.

FEMA announced that $846,000 is heading to the region, following a disaster declaration by Governor Armstrong.

Jamestown will receive more than $244,000 for debris removal, the Pingree-Buchanan School District is set to get nearly $168,000 for building repairs, and Valley City State University will receive over $100,000 to repair its athletic fields. Kidder County will receive the highest amount: nearly $332,000 for the replacement or repair of damage to signs, surfaces and embankment.
