The state Democratic-NPL chair will temporarily fill a Fargo House seat left open after Representative Liz Conmy died in an April plane crash.
District 11 Democrats have appointed Adam Goldwyn to serve the rest of Conmy’s term in the North Dakota House.
Conmy represented south Fargo and died April 25 in a plane crash in Minnesota. Her partner and the pilot, Dr. Joseph Cass, also died.
Goldwyn is a professor at North Dakota State University. He will serve through November 30th and says he does not plan to run for the seat this fall.
The appointment is separate from the June primary. Conmy’s name remains on the District 11 ballot because the withdrawal deadline had already passed at the time of her death.
