An international visitor was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash while riding a bicycle in Grand Forks County on Friday afternoon, and troopers say they’ve now identified the vehicle involved.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 53-year-old man was riding on U.S. Highway 2 northeast of Niagara just after 2 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle that was driving on the same road.
Authorities say the driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, leaving the seriously injured cyclist behind. That person who was a visitor from Denmark was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers say they’ve identified a suspected vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
