Patrol Identifies Two Men Killed in Highway 20 Crash Near Courtenay

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified two men killed in a head-on crash in northern Stutsman County on Friday night.

The Patrol says 23-year-old Devin Moritz of McHenry was speeding northbound on Highway 20 just after 10 p.m. when his pickup crossed the centerline.  McHenry was about six miles north of Courtenay and struck a southbound pickup driven by 54-year-old Wyatt Ellingson of Edgeley.

The NDHP says neither driver was wearing a seat belt. Both and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in Ellingson’s pickup, 52-year-old Carrie Ellingson of Edgeley, suffered serious injuries and was taking to a hospital for emergency treatment.  Troopers say she was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
