The former director of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department will avoid additional jail time following a plea agreement in a sex crime case.
A Morton County judge sentenced Terry Steinwand to two years of probation after he entered an Alford plea to a reduced Class A misdemeanor charge of sexual assault. Steinwand was originally charged with a felony for inappropriate sexual activity with a child and served eight days in jail following his arrest last September.
Court officials confirmed that Steinwand is not required to register as a sex offender under the terms of his sentence.
