There were multiple deadly incidents on North Dakota roads over the weekend, including one took the life of a local resident.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Jamestown woman died Saturday night in a rollover crash on Highway 200 in Foster County.
Troopers says she was driving east at about 7:40 p.m. when she lost control seven miles west of Glenfield. Her Ford Fusion left the roadway and rolled. She was not wearing a seat belt and died from her injuries. Her name has not been released.
A Fargo man died earlier Saturday in a separate single-vehicle crash after fleeing police.
The Patrol says 35-year-old Damion Proffit fled at high speeds when Fargo police tried to stop him shortly after midnight for driving with a suspended license. Police discontinued the attempted stop and did not pursue him.
Officers say they found Proffit’s pickup shortly afterward in the 1500 block of Dakota Drive. The pickup had missed a curve, struck a tree, and continued between two apartment buildings.  Profitt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
