Gas prices are up slightly during heading towards the holiday travel period.

North Dakota averages $2.84 per gallon for unleaded, up a just a cent from a week ago.  Diesel prices in the state have risen nine cents in that period, now averaging $3.61.  That now puts Diesel prices up 13 cents from last year at this time, while unleaded prices are down 13 cents.

The lowest prices in the state are now in Sargent County, where averages for unleaded sit at $2.66.  Stutsman County is right behind, averaging $2.67.

McKenzie County in the western part of the state has the highest average at $3.05.

AAA says they expect prices to continue at least a slow rise through Thanksgiving.
