A gruesome 35-day investigation into the disappearance of 24-year-old Isadora Wengel culminated in a Cass County courtroom Thursday afternoon as her boyfriend, 21-year-old Joshua Hite, was formally charged with her murder.
Though Wengel’s body has not been recovered, West Fargo and Fargo police announced they have gathered DNA evidence and forensic material that led them to determine she is no longer alive, according to court documents. Hite is currently facing charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence, and providing false information to law enforcement. InForum reports he is being held on $5 million cash-only bail.
Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a black tote bin with a red lid that they suspect is involved with the disposal of her remains.
