Accident near Dawson, ND on Feb. 19, 2026 | Via NDHP Facebook
North Dakotans grappled with hazardous travel conditions yesterday, as compacted snow and ice covered much of the roadways, especially Stutsman County, which remained in a “no travel advisory” through the evening.
Other areas in the state felt the weather’s impact, as the North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a two-vehicle crash occurred on I-94 yesterday afternoon. The incident was located around mile marker 212, near Dawson. A Freightliner straight truck traveling east lost control on icy roads, crossed the median, and entered the westbound lanes, striking a Ford pickup head-on.
Both drivers were taken by Kidder County Ambulance to CHI St. Alexius and Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck for treatment or their injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
