Jamestown Salvation Army relocating to new service center

The Salvation Army in Jamestown has announced it is moving its service center at 320 1st Avenue North to the Jamestown Business Center, just a block away. A press release initially published in the Jamestown Sun describes this as a strategic move designed to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and to decrease operational costs. To facilitate the move, the service center will be closed starting Monday, April 20, through Friday, May 1.

Salvation Army Manager Roger Bryant stated the move is an “investment” in the community. The new space will reportedly offer full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The more modern building is less expensive to operate, allowing more funds to go directly to community services, according to the release. More parking will also be available.

The new facility will open on Monday, May 4. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to get involved, by donating perishable or non-perishable food, or by providing volunteer services. For more information or to offer assistance, contact Roger Bryant at 701-815-0275, or roger.bryant@usc.salvationarmy.org.
