Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near Lidgerwood, and the driver is now facing DUI-related charges.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened last week on Highway 11, about one mile east of Lidgerwood.
Troopers say a Harley-Davidson and a Buick Park Avenue were both heading west when the motorcycle crossed into the eastbound lane as the Buick was trying to pass. The two vehicles then sideswiped each other.
The NDHP says motorcycle went out of control and into the south ditch, throwing both people from the bike. The driver, 49-year-old Corey Sayler of Bismarck, and his passenger, 37-year-old Kaci Manikowski of Lidgerwood, were taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo with serious injuries.
The patrol says neither person on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
The Buick driver, 59-year-old Dale Polansky of Lidgerwood, was not hurt.
Prosecutors have now charged Sayler with driving under the influence, DUI refusal and driving under suspension.
The NDHP says it is still gathering information about the crash.
