Jamestown Road Closure on 4th Avenue Begins Monday

By Seth Dunlap May 18, 2026 | 6:18 AM

A road closure starts today in northwest Jamestown as part of a water main replacement project.

The closure is on an approximately one block stretch on 4th Avenue Northwest running from 18th Street Northwest to 19th Street Northwest.

The City Engineer’s Office says the closure is expected to last about three weeks, or until the work is finished.  A detour will be in place during that time and drivers are asked to not attempt to pass through the roadway, which typically can be busy in the morning and evening hours.

Contractors will be setting up temporary water service along 4th Avenue Northwest, from 11th Street to 19th Street, for the next two months.  Residents with water service problems or interruptions should contact city water management.
