Much of North Dakota experienced a Tornado Watch issued by the National Weather Service Tuesday, as a line of storms wreaked havoc on the plains. High wind gusts averaging around 60 mph, hail up to 2.5 inches in diameter, and heavy rain pushed its way across the state, with some areas in the northwest near the Canadian border receiving Tornado Warnings. At least two tornadoes were reported, one near Northgate and another near Flaxton.

Over 1,000 households were left without power in Jamestown after a strong thunderstorm swept through the town late Tuesday, according to Otter Tail Power’s outage map at 1 a.m. June 10th. Winds up to 70 mph were detected at the Jamestown airport, according to the National Weather Service. A trained spotter also reported quarter-sized hail fell at one point, though that did not seem to last very long. Rain fell for several hours beginning during the 11 p.m. hour.
