Former NDHSAA assistant director Brenda Schell of Valley City has received a national citation for her work in high school activities.
Schell was one of 13 people honored this past Sunday during the National Federation of State High School Associations summer meeting in Salt Lake City. She spent nine years with Valley City Public Schools before becoming the district’s first full-time technology director in 1999.
Schell joined the North Dakota High School Activities Association in 2007 and worked there for 14 years. Her work included running the association’s website, online testing, rules clinics, technology, and distributing publications. She also oversaw boys and girls tennis in the state.
Schell is a longtime Valley City resident. She graduated from Valley City High School and earned a degree from Valley City State University. She still lives in Valley City with her husband, Mike.
