Farmers and crop advisers can get a look at current irrigation research near Oakes next month.
The Oakes Irrigation Research Site Annual Field Day runs Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s put on by the NDSU Agriculture Department. The site is 4.5 miles south of Oakes on Highway 1.
This year’s program includes canola production and marketing, corn and soybean disease updates, and nitrogen management strategies. NDSU also plans a ribbon cutting for new offices, lab, and a shop building at the site.
NDSU says registration for the event is preferred but not required.
