Ken McDougall from the James Valley chapter of Pheasants Forever, joined Payton Gall for an interview regarding this week’s 15th annual banquet held at the Jamestown Civic Center.
Doors open at 5:00 PM for games and raffles, followed by a dinner catered by the Knights of Columbus at 7:00 PM. The evening includes a live auction and raffle, and the festivities wrap up shortly after 9:00 PM. With firearms, gear, and an Argentina/Uruguay hunting trip up for grabs, the event features family-friendly activities, a kid zone, and special charity auctions, including a breast cancer awareness basket where proceeds above $200 directly assist local cancer patients with travel costs. A $50-per-ticket raffle offers a chance to win a gun safe, pistol, shotgun, and rifle with scope.
“Pheasants Forever is a habitat organization. We’re not a hunting organization… our idea is to promote more habitat and the more habitat we have, the more wildlife we have. And it’s not just pheasants. Deer and meadow larks and ducks and geese, everything out there benefits.” – Ken McDougall
