ND Early Ballots Top 86,000 as National Voting Surpasses 46 Million

The North Dakota Monitor reports that as of Friday, over 46 million Americans cast their ballot early ahead of Tuesday’s midterms. The University of Florida’s Election Lab compiled the data, reporting that these numbers have edged ahead of 2022’s numbers, in which 45.9 million voted early.

2018 saw a record voter turnout of 53%, the highest since 1914. The lab says overall voter turnout will likely match that amount, but it’s not clear if that record will be surpassed.

The party composition of early voters includes 43.9% registered Democrats, 31.3% registered Republicans, and 24% unaffiliated, according to the lab.

As of Friday evening, North Dakotans have cast over 86,000 early ballots.
