Monument Dedicated in Buffalo, ND
BUFFALO, N.D. (AP) A monument honoring the men and women who served in the armed forces has been dedicated in the North Dakota town of Buffalo.

KVLY television reports that the 6-by-10-foot by black granite open-book-style memorial was completed by the American Legion Easton Yanish Post 10 last fall.

Veterans read the names on the monument during a Memorial Day dedication program. An honor guard gave a 21-gun salute and the North Dakota Patriot Guard played "Taps."

A Medal of Honor symbol will be engraved on the upper center with ribbon-like carvings to the top of the book. The monument's granite foundation is in the shape of a pentagon with service seals engraved on the base. Four flags will be displayed behind the monument.
