North Dakota approves $283K National Guard activation for July 4th celebrations

The North Dakota Emergency Commission has approved $283,000 to deploy 50 National Guard troops to assist local and state law enforcement with the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations. This activation will run from June 29th to July 6th, stationing military police and general purpose soldiers in Dickinson and Bismarck ahead of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library grand opening in Medora.

The funding is paid through the North Dakota Disaster Relief Fund.
