Valley City Parks and Recreation is kicking off its July Celebration tonight.
The City Park Block Party runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at City Park, with food, music, disc golf, activities, and local businesses set up along the walking path. Visitors can also pick up a Park Passport at either park entrance for a chance to win prizes.
The celebration continues through July with several Parks and Rec events, including a pulled pork cookoff July 9 on Central Avenue, a pickleball tournament July 17, a sand volleyball tournament July 18, and Safety in the Park July 29 at Chautauqua Park.
The month-long celebration is tied to National Parks and Recreation Month.
