North Dakota Gas Prices Continue To Fall Before Fourth Of July, But Remain Much Higher Than Last Year

Jul 1, 2026 | 11:09 AM

Gas prices continue to come down in North Dakota, although more slowly than in previous weeks.

AAA reports the price for regular unleaded is $3.66 per gallon.  That’s eight cents cheaper than a week ago and about 30 cents cheaper than a month ago.  Prices are still 70 cents higher than during 4th of July week last year.

Diesel prices are remaining stubbornly high, with the fuel averaging $4.40 in the state, but that is down over 50 cents from a month ago.   Diesel prices are 95 cents higher than Independence Day last year.

Prices are reportedly back to their normal lows in the eastern I-94 corridor, with Stutsman, Barnes, and Cass counties reporting the cheapest prices in the state.   That follows a couple-month period when those areas reported some of the highest prices in the state.
