Project Safe Send Coming To Jamestown July 8

Jul 1, 2026 | 6:10 AM

Project Safe Send is coming to Jamestown next week.

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture says the collection will run from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 8, at the NDDOT facility at 3568 81st Avenue Southeast.

Farmers, ranchers, and the general public can bring in old, unusable, or banned pesticides for disposal.  The program accepts things like herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides, and fungicides. The state says the program is free and non-regulatory, giving people a safe and legal way to get rid of chemicals you no longer need.

Anyone bringing more than 1,000 pounds should preregister with the state today, as they need a one-week heads up before collecting large amounts. Smaller amounts do not need preregistration.

The Agriculture Department says containers that are leaking or deteriorating should be packed in larger containers with absorbent material.
