A 33-year-old Hope man suffered serious injuries in an early-morning motorcycle crash east of Cooperstown.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the man was riding east on Highway 200 11 miles from Cooperstown shortly before 3 a.m. when his motorcycle traveled onto the shoulder and then entered the ditch.
The motorcycle overturned and threw the driver from the bike. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital and later transferred by air for additional treatment.
The patrol says the driver was not wearing a helmet and have alleged his was driving under the influence.
The driver’s name has not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
