JRMC’s advanced wound team provides highly specialized care for many wound-related conditions.

The Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has stacked on more merits, with its Advanced Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center earning two national clinical excellence awards recently.

The wound healing center is the only facility of its kind in North Dakota, according to the press release. It has been honored with the Center of Distinction award and the Robert A. Warriner III Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics.

JRMC had to maintain a patient satisfaction rate of at least 92% for 12 consecutive months to earn these recognitions. The center ranked in the top 10% of nearly 600 eligible wound care centers nationwide for its clinical outcomes.

Specialty Clinic Director Mercede Fiebiger said that the award “reinforces the trust our patients place in us every day.”

One of the most advanced tools utilized within the center is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). This involves placing a patient in a pressurized chamber where they breathe 100% oxygen, which significantly increases oxygen delivery to damaged tissues, speeding up the body’s natural healing process, according to the release.

“Not all wound care is the same,” said certified nurse practitioner Holli Marquart. She said that having access to this dedicated program in North Dakota makes a “meaningful difference” and improves quality of life.
