Calm Weather in Jamestown, Storms & Extreme Heat Elsewhere in North Dakota

Hot, dry and windy weather will impact parts of North Dakota today.

The National Weather Service has a Red Flag Warning in effect for far western North Dakota & into Montana this evening.

Forecasters say temperatures there will climb into the lower to middle 90s, with humidity dropping as low as 15 percent and southeast winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour. Any fire that starts could spread quickly and become difficult to control.

Calmer hot weather is in store for Jamestown and much of the central part of the state throughout the day, with highs near 90 and breezy conditions at times.

Eastern North Dakota will be stormy again. The National Weather Service in Grand Forks says isolated to scattered thunderstorms could develop there late this afternoon and tonight A few storms could become strong to severe.

The heat continues into Thursday, before increased shower and thunderstorm chances arrive heading into the weekend.
