The University of Jamestown has named Ryan Iliff as its new head baseball coach.

Iliff takes over after longtime head coach Tom Hager was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director of Development and Leadership. Hager led the Jimmies for 27 seasons and became the winningest coach in program history, with 869 career victories.

Iliff is a UJ graduate and has been part of the Jimmie baseball staff since 2012. He also pitched for Jamestown from 2008 through 2011.  He was part of the 2008 Jimmies team that reached the NAIA World Series and later was inducted into the UJ Athletic Hall of Fame with that team.

UJ Athletic Director Brian Mistro announced the hire Monday in a press release, praising Iliff as a guy who knows the program and will give it continuity as Hager moves on.
