State Ag Land Acquisition Review Set For LaMoure

Jun 30, 2026 | 8:22 AM

A state committee will meet in LaMoure next week to review a proposed nonprofit land acquisition.

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture says the Non-Profit Corporation Agricultural Land Acquisition Advisory Committee will meet at 1 p.m. July 6 at the LaMoure County Courthouse.  The agenda includes a review of a proposed acquisition plan from the American Foundation for Wildlife.

Under North Dakota law, nonprofit groups seeking to buy farmland or ranchland for conservation must go through a state review process. The law says the land must be managed for natural areas and habitat, and any hunting access on the land must be open to the general public.

Monday’s meeting also includes a question-and-answer period, public comment, and votes expected.
