A University of Jamestown basketball assistant has died from injuries suffered in a weekend crash on Interstate 94 in western Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 24-year-old Koleman Lind was driving west near Evansville Sunday afternoon when his Ford Fusion collided with an eastbound Tesla. An eastbound Toyota then struck the vehicles after the initial collision.
The crash happened in an I-94 construction zone where traffic was traveling head-to-head, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Investigators have not said what caused the vehicles to collide.
Lind was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol confirmed his death Tuesday morning.
Lind served as a graduate assistant with the University of Jamestown women’s basketball program and led its junior varsity team. He was also pursuing a master’s degree in leadership at UJ.
The Tesla’s driver, 73-year-old Harold Ennulat of Woodbury, Minnesota, died at the scene. His passenger suffered life-threatening injuries. A Mandan woman driving the third vehicle was not injured.
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
