North Dakota will offer 1,310 pronghorn licenses this fall, the same number as last year.
Game and Fish says aerial surveys completed in June and July found the population up 12% from 2025. The department is holding license numbers steady as part of a conservative harvest plan intended to encourage further growth.
Licenses will be awarded by lottery in 18 hunting units. Only North Dakota residents may apply, and applicants must turn 12 years old by Dec. 31.
The bow-only season starts at noon Sept. 4 and runs through Sept. 27. Hunters with an unfilled license may use a legal firearm or bow from noon Oct. 2 through Oct. 18.
Applications are due by midnight Aug. 5 at GF.nd.gov.
