BY DANY LEDDA, KSJB Sports (Valley City, ND) – The Hi Liners were derailed at Hanna Field as The Ellendale Edgeley Kulm Thunder put on an impressive display of running as sophomore Riggin Sand scored 3 rushing touchdowns and tacked on another on a punt return. Tate Mathern and freshman QB Cale Peterson each added ground assault touchdowns as #2 EEK took the A Division win 66-6.
The Thunder defense was stingy, only allowing 6 points off a touchdown from VC QB Hudson Kriewald. EEK defense also accounted for a touchdown with a strip sack in the endzone by senior lineman Seth Irey.
Next week Valley City (1-6) is on the road to Oakes (4-2); Our Prep Sports Game of the Week will feature a heavyweight bout with postseason seeding ramifications on the line as #2 Ellendale Edgeley Kulm Thunder (7-0) will host the #3 Northern Cass Jaguars (7-0). The game will be played in Edgeley.
