It’s state tournament time in Jamestown once again.
The Division B Baseball & Softball Tournaments begin this morning, with baseball at Jack Brown Stadium and softball at Lyle ‘Trapper’ Lawrence Field.
Eight teams in each tournament from regions across the state qualified in each tournament, with all teams guaranteed three games through Saturday. The quarterfinals are Thursday, semifinals Friday, and the trophy games and championships on Saturday.
The baseball quarterfinals today are (times approximate):
- 11:30am Park River Area vs. Shiloh Christian
- 2:00pm Thompson vs. Bottineau
- 4:30pm Kindred vs. Des Lacs-Burlington
- 7:00pm LaMoure/Litchvile-Marion/Edgeley vs. Velva-Drake/Anamoose (KSJB Radio LIVE broadcast)
The softball quarterfinals today are (times approximate):
- 11:00am Velva-Drake/Anamoose vs. Glenburn
- 1:30pm Des-Lacs Burlington/Lewis & Clark-Berthold vs. Kindred
- 4:00pm Central Cass vs. Pembina County North
- 6:30pm Beulah vs. Thompson
The NDHSAA notes that games will begin 35 minutes after the prior game’s completion.
The winners of todays games advance to Friday’s semifinals. The losers will face off in earlier consolation games. The championships are slated for Saturday afternoon and evening, with the softball title at 4:30pm and the baseball title game at 7:00pm.
