Jun 24, 2026 | 12:04 PM

North Dakota’s deer gun lottery has been held, and more than 1,200 licenses remain available.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department says more than 72,000 people applied for a deer gun lottery license this year. That is in addition to more than 12,000 gratis applicants.

The 2026 deer gun proclamation allowed for 39,100 deer gun season licenses.

Game and Fish says only resident applicants who were unsuccessful in the lottery can apply for the remaining licenses. Applications open online July 1 and must be submitted by July 15.

Successful applicants will have their licenses mailed in early August.
