State regulators have approved two electric service items tied to Dakota Spirit AgEnergy near Spiritwood.
The North Dakota Public Service Commission approved Otter Tail Power’s request for a certificate to extend electric service to Dakota Spirit AgEnergy, along with an electric service agreement.
The ethanol biorefinery is part of the Spiritwood Energy Park.
In earlier filings, Otter Tail said Dakota Spirit is currently served by Great River Energy, but that arrangement is expected to end. Otter Tail also said it already serves other industrial customers in the area.
The approval clears the way for Otter Tail to provide electric service under the agreement approved by the PSC.
